Levi’s Plaza
When faced with the exciting challenge of introducing color to the historic Levi’s Plaza building, I delved into the work of Lawrence Halprin, a master landscaper and architect whose contributions helped shape the space. Halprin's pioneering work in center hard landscaping and other features has left an indelible mark on the area. One of his most notable projects was the Sea Ranch, located just outside of San Francisco, where he collaborated with the talented Barbara Stauffacher Solomon to create stunning super graphics.
Inspired by these legendary works, I set out to develop my own graphics to complement the building's historic character. To ensure a subtle connection to the history of both the building and the city's design and culture, I incorporated a modified version of the iconic Levi’s jeans wave logo as a repeating element. The result is a beautiful blend of the old and new, creating a unique visual experience that celebrates the building's rich heritage.
